House For Sale – A 79-acre riverfront estate on the scenic River Dart in southwest England, with a 1920s eight-bedroom house as its centerpiece, came onto the market last month for £10 million (US$12.97 million).
“There are a number of estuaries and rivers in the area,” said listing agent Sarah-Jane Bingham-Chick, head of residential sales for Savills Exeter. “One of the most beautiful estuaries in Devon, in the whole country really, is the Dart estuary.”
“The Dart Valley is just spectacularly scenic all year round, quintessentially English,” she said. Greenway, Agatha Christie’s famous holiday home is just a short ferry ride away across the river.
Built in 1928, the 7,974-square-foot Gurrow Point house has eight bedrooms and seven full bathrooms. It is located on the northeast part of the Dittisham Peninsula, oriented to get the best views of the River Dart.
